- Inpatient wards: Parents and carers can visit together, and siblings and friends are welcome. Some wards limit how many people can visit at once because of space. Intensive care units, the Mildred Creak Unit and the Clinical Research Facility explain their own rules when your child is admitted.
Wards can change their visiting arrangements at short notice. Call the ward before you travel.
Parking
GOSH has no car park and no official drop-off area. Camden issues same-day parking permits for parents and carers bringing children, for the single yellow line on Guilford Street. Collect one from Main Reception or Falcon Outpatients (Zayed Centre, 20 Guilford Street). Parking is very limited, so only drive if you need to.
Blue Badge holders: You can park in residents', pay-and-display or disabled bays with no time limit, and on a single yellow line for up to 3 hours, with your badge and clock on display.
- Families who meet the criteria may be able to claim back travel costs — ask the hospital.
This hospital is inside London's Congestion Charge zone and Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ). Check current charges and NHS patient reimbursement on the Transport for London website.
Parking details checked 24 October 2026.
Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) is a specialist children’s hospital in central London, run by Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. The main entrance is in the Morgan Stanley Clinical Building on Guilford Street (WC1N 1EH).
Visiting
- Parents and carers can visit together, and siblings and friends of inpatients are welcome.
- Some wards limit how many people can visit at one time because of space.
- Nobody should visit if they feel unwell. If you develop a cough or other respiratory symptoms during a visit, tell the ward and go home.
- If a sibling or visitor has a rash, or has been exposed to measles and isn’t vaccinated, don’t bring them to the hospital.
- Up to two parents or carers can come to an outpatient appointment, but please don’t bring siblings.
Staying with your child
- GOSH guarantees that one parent can stay with their child, on a recliner chair or fold-out bed depending on the ward.
- There’s a waiting list for the second parent. If there’s space by the evening, you’ll be offered somewhere to stay.
- If staying at the bedside isn’t safe, such as on intensive care or high dependency units, the hospital arranges somewhere for both parents in its Family Accommodation Units.
- The patient hotel at Weston House, opposite the main hospital, may offer a room the night before an admission. Families living outside the M25 get priority.
- The Sick Children’s Trust, a separate charity, runs “Homes from Home” near GOSH, mainly for parents of children in intensive care.
- To book, contact the Accommodation Office on 020 7813 8151 or patienthotel@gosh.nhs.uk.
